Lula M. Cox, 85 of Carmi, passed away Wednesday October 21, 2015 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born March 19, 1930 in Manford, OK the daughter of James E. and Nora E (Wolfgang) Boxell. She married James E. Cox on May 29, 1947 in Fairfield and he preceded her in death June 10, 2006.
Lula had worked as a sales clerk at SavMor and Dela Dee Fashions. She was a member of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosa Brown of Centerville, Virginia (Don) Jordan of Carmi and Nora (Dennis) Rupp of Defiance, MO; her son, Donald E. (Martha) Cox of Mt. Vernon, IN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; grandson, Aaron Jordan, and a brother, Bill Boxell.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday October 23, 2015 at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi with Chaplain Mike Fields officiating.
