Lorene Eloise Matz, 86 of Crossville, died early Wednesday morning at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. She was born February 12, 1928 in Crossville, the daughter of Joseph and Lorene Elizabeth (Schutz) Ridenour. She married Doyle Matz on November 29, 1946 at Henderson, KY and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2007.
Eloise had been a 4H leader, a member of Modern Woodsmen and the Church of Christ in Crossville.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruby Lynn (Mike) Schuster of Indianapolis, IN; her grandson, Jeffrey Schuster; 2 brothers, James L. (Wilma) Ridenour, Sr. and Donald E. (Ruth) Ridenour, Sr. all of Crossville; 1 sister, Paralee (Bud) Tait of Pittsburg, IL; 2 half brothers, Darrell (Janice) Ridenour of Norris City and Gary (Marsha) Ridenour of Cape Girardeau, MO. She was preceded in death by her son, Laverne Mitchell Matz; 3 brothers, Chester Earl, Marion and Melvin Ridenour and 2 sisters, Marguarite Pollard and Betty Lou Balliette.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday June 21, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Herb Woollard officiating. Burial will be in N. Maple Ridge Cemetery.
