Lorene Hagemann, 96
of Mt. Vernon, Indiana
died Sunday, September 16, 2007 in Evansville.
Lorene was born February 17, 1911 in Bufkin, Indiana to the late Henry B. Knight and Florence (Blackburn) Knight. She was a homemaker and was known for her homemade lye soap. Lorene was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Mt. Vernon Garden Club where she was a Past President. She was also a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by:

Estella Burger of Jasper, IN
Two brothers:
Garland Knight of Phoenix, AZ
Edsel Knight of Mt. Vernon
and many nieces, nephew and cousins
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Harry P. Hagemann in 1971, a sister, Ina Mae Walls and two brothers, Maurice Knight and Jack Knight.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 505 Mulberry Mt. Vernon, Indiana, with Reverend Penny Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 E. 4th Mt. Vernon, Indiana.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, Mt. Vernon, or to The Rockland County Choral Society of New York, which is conducted by Philip Hagemann. Contributions to the Society may be mailed to the Austin Funeral Home.
