Loren Dale "Dink" Monroe,72, of New Haven, passed away at 6:50 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born in Shawneetown on May 6, 1944 the son of Loren and Edna (Cummings) Monroe. Loren married Wanda Renee Parks on February 3, 1986. Loren was a self-employed brick mason. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Loren is survived by his wife of 30 years, Renee Monroe of New Haven; two sons, Loren and wife Adrienne Monroe of Woodridge, IL and Ed Barton ,Jr of Rocldale, IL; two daughters, Robin and husband Dale Turner of Wentzville, MO and Rebecca and husband Joe Gould of Carbondale, IL; a brother, Johnny Monroe of Staunton, IL; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Loren is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles Monroe.
Graveside funeral services for Loren Dale "Dink" Monroe, 72, of New Haven, will be on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 3 :00 p.m. at Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown. Friends are ask to meet at the cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is handling arrangements.
