Lonnie Trout, 81, of Carmi, passed away at 9:29 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born October 18, 1933 in Maunie, IL, the son of Alonzo Murdoch and Clara Mae (Swafford) Trout. Lonnie was a purchasing manager for Chevron Oil Company and a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and Carmi American Legion Post #224.
Lonnie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen E. and Elaine Trout of Los Alamos, NM and Stanley T. and Julie Trout of Tulsa, OK; constant companion and caregiver, Dona Trout of Carmi; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Walter Belangee of Mt. Carmel; a son-in-law, Bill Neubauer of Houston, TX; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Donnita Trout of Bourbonnais, IL, Jerry and Diane Trout of Rupert, WV and Wesley and Debbie Trout of Crossville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Rae Trout; two sisters, Mayme Wooten and Betty Lingafelter; four brothers, Herschel, Willard, Delbert and Lee Trout; and his ex-wife, Ellen Raglin Trout.
Funeral services for Lonnie Trout, 81, of Carmi, will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Revs. Steve Trout and Bob McKelvey officiating. Burial will be in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi with Military rites by Carmi VFW and American Legion. Friends may call on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
