Lloyd Ray Vaupel, 81, of Carmi, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. He was born on September 5, 1939, the son of Martin and Coralee (Funkhouser) Vaupel. Lloyd married Linda Kay Brasel on May 30, 1958 and she survives. He helped his father on their farm growing up and then went on to work in the oil fields until his retirement. Lloyd enjoyed rabbit hunting, playing cards and dominoes as well as spending time with family.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Kay (Brasel) Vaupel; a special nephew, Kelley (Tonya) Vaupel of Carmi IL.; a grandson, Dustin (Candice) Vaupel and great-grandson Mark Vaupel of Allendale, IL.; a daughter-in-law Alisha Vaupel and grandsons Micah and Elijah Vaupel of Knoxville, TN.; a brother, Lowell (Carolyn) Vaupel; three sisters, Anna Dennis, Mary Helen (Jim Buttry) Young, and Madeline Lamp; and two sisters-in-law, Judy (John) Kim and Betty (John) White; one brother-in-law, Regis Brasel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Mark Vaupel; a sister, Eloise Vaupel, and two brothers, Luther O. and Floyd Vaupel.
A celebration of life for Lloyd Ray Vaupel, will be held at a later date. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
