Leo V. Muller, age 71 of Mount Vernon, IN, died Saturday afternoon April 19, 2008 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born February 19, 1937 at Mount Vernon, the son of Sylvester and Aileen (Manning) Muller. He married Scharlotte D. Kaffenberger on December 30, 1955 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Mount Vernon.


Mr. Muller retired from GAF after 25 years and after retirement worked at the Pumpkin Patch. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, crafts and just being with his loved ones.


He is survived by his wife, Scharlotte; five sons and daughters-in-law, Leo Ray and Phyllis Muller of Mount Vernon, Bill and (the late Rebecca) Muller and significant other, Pam Wood of Mount Vernon, James and Sherri Muller of Norris City, Allen Muller of Mount Vernon and Gerald and Michele Muller of Uttica, KY; three daughters and sons-in-law, Delorse and (the late, Faustino B.) Mendoza of Eldorado, IL, Linda and Wendell Carroll and Melody and John Henderson of Mount Vernon; twenty three grandchildren, one honorary grandson, John Alldredge, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Albert Muller of Evansville; six sisters, Agnes Jochim, Rosemarie Wagner and Barbara Neaville all of Poseyville, Frances Wagner and Dorothy Coker both of Mount Vernon and Julia Friend of Delaware. He was preceded in death by a son, baby Muller; great-grandson, Dakota Sapp, his parents and one brother, Clarence Muller.


A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday April 22, 2008 at St. Matthews Catholic Church with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery at Evansville. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Monday April 21, 2008 at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 2:45 p.m. on Monday.
