Lena Wallace

Lena Wallace, 82, of Carmi, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:56 p.m. at Phoenix Nursing and Rehab in Carmi. She was born in Epworth on July 5, 1932, the daughter of Carl and Mary Ella (Brown) Thompson. Lena married Carl Wallace August 13, 1948 and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1964. She was a wife and a mother.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Wallace of Carmi, Brenda Bucinski of Harrisburg and Caroline Wallace of Carmi; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Teri Lynn Thompson of West Frankfort and Wilbur "Ray" Pennell of Carmi; six grandsons; three granddaughters; four great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Tommy, Donnie and Ronnie Wallace; three sisters, Lucy Zoph, Ruby Winter and Zelma Logan; and five brothers, Bill ,Curtis, Ned, Ted and Charles Thompson.

Graveside funeral services and burial for Lena Wallace, 82, of Carmi will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at Brown Cemetery near Crossville. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial gifts may be given in Lena's name to Campbell Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
