Lemyal Aron Ogles, 84 of Cadiz, KY and formerly of Evansville, IN died early Tuesday morning, June 22, 2010 at his home. He was born on July 23, 1925 in Shreveport, LA, the son of Lawrence Aron and Clarissa Bell (Gunther) Ogles. He married Rosetta Dean Hust on January 1, 1946 in Morganfield, KY and she preceded him in death on March 14, 2007.
Mr. Ogles worked as a meat packer at Swift & Company and as a welder at International Steel in Evansville before his retirement. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He attended Well Springs Community Worship Church in Henderson, KY. He especially loved his dog “Pete Budâ€. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, animals and woodworking.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Patricia Ogles of Evansville, and Michael and Margaret Ogles of Cadiz, KY; four daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and John Lowery of Alabama; Ruth Reed of Evansville; Brenda and Jerry Hankins of Indianapolis, IN; and Kathy and Samuel Rumade of Evansville; sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Daphne Schneider. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Austin-Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with Pastor Rod Murray officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Black Cemetery. On-line condolences may be left at www.austinfuneralhome.com.
