Larry Dean York

Larry Dean York, 80 of Enfield, died at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. He managed the family farm until passing it on to his sons. Larry was born December 21, 1943, near Springerton, Illinois, to Ivan and Dorothy (South) York. He married Judy Kay Bean on January 2, 1971, at Lebanon North Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Fairfield, and together they shared over 53 years of marriage. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Chris (Beth) York of Springerton, IL, Kent (Anne) York of Hyattsville, MD, Kelly (Jennifer) York of Mill Shoals, IL; grand kids: Mathew (Shannon) Gardewine, Laney Cawthron, Claire (Michael) Nelson, Maggie and Beatrix York, Alex Bond, Mathis York and Caleb Townsend; great grand kids: Warren, Grayson, Rowan, Hazel, and one on the way; sister: Brenda (Dave) Nelson; sister-in-law: Beverly York; brother-in-law: Jim Bean. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dallas York. 

Funeral Services for Larry Dean York will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield with burial following immediately at Little Zion Cemetery near Enfield. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to Lebanon North Cumberland Presbyterian Church and will be accepted at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield or may be mailed to 609 West Main Street, Carmi, IL 62821.
