Larry Pittman

Alan Larry Pittman, 65 of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday morning, March 13, 2014 at Mt. Vernon Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 23, 1948 in Evansville, the son of William Harry and Fern (Lamar) Pittman.

Mr. Pittman graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1966. He was employed for 20 years at Whirlpool and also worked at Nunn Better Milling upon graduation from high school.

He is survived by one sister, Betty DeLong of Carmi; a sister-in-law, Ann Hart of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Hart, brother-in-law, Jim DeLong and a nephew, Tennessee DeLong.

Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with Rev. Harold Merriweather as officiant. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and will be collected by the funeral home.
