Larry Dean Fleck

     Larry Dean Fleck, 72, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.  He was born on September 15, 1950, in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Chris and Doris (Anselment) Fleck. Larry married Barbara Jean Taylor on October 28, 1995, and she survives. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, 92nd Airborne. Larry worked as a carpenter and later for the City of Carmi. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. Larry was also a member of the American Legion and served as a Commander in the past. He enjoyed deer hunting, quail hunting and playing pool. Larry loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

    In addition to his wife, Barbara Fleck of Carmi, IL, Larry is survived by his daughter. Beth (Eric) Hart of Carmi, IL; grandchildren, Griffin (Erica) Hart, Carlee Hart and Abbey Fleck; numerous nieces, nephews and  cousins; and his special dog, Sissy.  He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gordon Fleck; and a brother, Mike Fleck

     Funeral services for Larry Fleck will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, Illinois with burial at Melrose Cemetery in Carmi. Full military rites will be provided by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Larry's memory to Brownsville School and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
