Larry Draper

Larry E. Draper, 70, of Carmi, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:15 a.m. at his residence in Carmi. He was born November 10, 1941 in Enfield, IL, the son of Maurice and Dana Elmeto (Wilson) Draper. He married Patricia Carroll Winter November 18, 1967. Larry was a meter man for Superior Oil Co. and a self employed carpenter after retirement. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Carmi Lions Club and Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Carmi. The family would like to thank VNA TIP Hospice of Mt. Carmel for their exceptional care.

Larry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pat Draper of Carmi; his mother, Dana Draper Ward of Carmi; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Cyndi Draper of Raleigh, IL and Jason and LeeAnn Draper of Carmi; a sister, Linda Draper of Enfield; three grandchildren, Lincoln, Abigail and Emmaline Draper; his mother-in-law, Mary E. Winter of Carmi; two brothers-in-law, Richard and Janice Winter of Burnt Prairie and Doug and Nancy J. Winter of Mill Shoals. He was preceded in death by his father; step father, Irvin Ward; and father-in-law, Norman Winter.

Funeral services for Larry E. Draper, 70, of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Campbell Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Buckman and Gene Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Larry's name to the Carmi Lions Club and will be accepted at the funeral home.
