Larry Cushman

Larry L. Cushman, age 74, of Springerton, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born April 26, 1939 in Springerton, the son of Harlan and Mary (Wright) Cushman. He married Lucy Naomi Johnson on June 16, 1957 in Fairfield.

Larry was the manager of the Wabash Valley Plant in Springerton for 35 years. After he retired he drove the school buses for many of the local districts. He is currently serving as Mill Shoals Township Supervisor. He was a friend to everyone and loved his family deeply.

He is survived by his wife Naomi; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Kim Cushman of Springerton; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Teria and Ken Griesemer of St. Elmo and Rhonda Rose of Thackray; 8 grandchildren, Josh (Megan) Griesemer, Zachary, Megan and Dusty Cushman, Logan, Dustin, Nicholas and Tanner Rose; 1 great-grandson, Gavin Griesemer; 2 step-grandchildren, Jessica Hanby and Ercia Rose; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Anita Cushman of Fairfield and Carl and Reba Cushman of Enfield; 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Garrett South of Enfield and Shirley Carter of Norris City; he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Joyce Smith, June Rister and Norma Etienne, a son-in-law, Curtis Rose; and an infant brother and sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday June 23, 2013 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield with Larry Woodrow and Rev. Keith Moore officiating. Burial will be in Springerton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com
