Lanita Bartley

Lanita Bartley, 70, of Carmi, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 12:58 a.m. at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. She was born on October 11, 1945 in Elizabethtown, IL, the daughter of Roy and Lexie (Dixon) Osborne. Lanita married Junior Ray Bartley on June 12, 1964 and he preceded her in death March 11, 2000. She was a housekeeper at White County Skilled Care Unit and attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Carmi.

Lanita is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Marilyn and Joseph Chapman of Chicago and Sherri Gwaltney of Carmi; a sister, Loretta Castleberry of Carmi; a brother, Dale Osborne of Carmi; two grandchildren, Michael Gwaltney and Aeryn Chapman; and three brothers-in-law, Dennis Bartley of Norris City, Sonny Bartley of Omaha and Gary Bartley of Carmi. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four brothers, William, Gary, Larry and Arthur Osborne.

Graveside funeral services and burial for Lanita Bartley, 70, of Carmi, will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
