Ladonna Johnson

Ladonna C. Hanks Johnson, 59, of Owensville, IN, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 p.m. at her residence. She was born on May 17, 1955 in Carmi, the daughter of Richard and Yvonna Carolyn (Lemon) Hanks. Ladonna attended Crossville Community High School and had attended classes at Oakland City University. She married John Bishop in 1976. They had a son, Justin Bishop, who passed away in 1998. Ladonna was a truck driver for many years, driving for O'Daniel Trucking of Carmi, Cross Country Stock Haulers of Ft. Branch, IN and Transfreight at Toyota where she has been employed for the past several years. She was a member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Ft. Branch, IN and the Eastern Star Rebecca Chapter.

Ladonna is survived by a special daughter, Tonia Maxey of Carmi; her loving companion, Kenny Pfeiffer of Haubstadt, IN, her mother, Yvonna Carol Sullivan of Carmi; a sister, Beth Sullivan of Carmi; and her special dog, Abby. She was preceded in death by her son, Justin; and maternal grandparents, Raymond "Rip" and Nina Lemon.

A celebration of life service for Ladonna C. Hanks Johnson, 59, of Owensville, IN will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Herb Woolard officiating.
