L. Mingus

L. Joyce Mingus, 67, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 5:10 p.m. at her residence. She was born on August 22, 1947 in Fairfield, IL, the daughter of John and Ida Mae (Cole) Hunsinger.

Joyce married Marvin Russell Mingus, Jr. on May 18, 1980 and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2014. She was an Army (W.A.C.) veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of First Christian Church and the American Legion in Carmi.

Joyce is survived by her mother, Ida Mae Hunsinger of Fairfield; a daughter, Terrilee Michelle Fick of Metropolis; a son, Randall D. Williams of Carmi; and three brothers, John, Delmar and Ronnie Hunsinger. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; a daughter, Dorothra Williams; and a brother, Michael Hunsinger.

Graveside funeral and burial services for L. Joyce Mingus, 67, of Carmi, will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi with Mike Fields officiating. There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial gifts may be given in Joyce's name to Campbell Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
