Kent F.P. "Mr. Kent" Boeger, 92, of Carmi, passed away at 5:30 a.m., on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Carmi Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born on November 19, 1924 in Carmi, the son of Frank Joseph and Amelia Elizabeth (Doerr) Boeger. Kent married Margaret Ellen "Timmye" Timms on October 6, 1951 and she preceded him in death on April 8, 2013. He was a 1942 graduate of Carmi High School. He went on to attend the National Institute of Art and Strayer Business School. Kent was a World War II, Army veteran and was the owner and operator of Mr. Kent's Flowers and Gifts. He was a member of the St. Polycarp Catholic Church, Carmi Kiwanis, American Legion, VFW, and the White County Historical Society where he was a past president and board member..
Kent is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Amelia Boeger, his wife Timmye, and two brothers, Edward Frederick Boeger and Arthur Boeger.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kent F.P. "Mr. Kent" Boeger, 92, of Carmi, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church with Father Vincent Obi officiating. Burial will be in St. Polycarp Cemetery in Carmi. There will be no prior visitation. Memorial contributions may be given in Kent's memory to the White County Historical Society and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
