Kenneth Woolsey, Jr.

Kenneth "Kenny" Laval Woolsey, Jr., 72, of Carmi, passed away at 12:49 am Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born in Shawneetown, IL on August 1, 1944 the son of Kenneth Charles and Eleanor Kathleen (York) Woolsey. Kenny married Janet Kay Winter on March 14, 1965 and she survives. He was raised and a lifelong resident of Concord and was a 1962 graduate of Carmi Township High School.  He was a Sergeant in the Armed Forces National Guard from 1964 to 1969. He retired in 1988 from working as a grain and livestock farmer with his father. He then became a truck driver at Poshard Trucking. Kenny was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Jeff French of Carmi; son, Stacey Woolsey of Carmi; sister Carolyn Rider of Haughton, LA; two grandchildren, Cooper and Cameron French. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Kathleen Woolsey; three sons, Jeremy, Daniel and Darin Woolsey; his sister, Suetta Woolsey; his daughter-in-law, Kristen Woolsey; and his brother-in-law, Ronnie Rider.

Funeral services for Kenny Woolsey, Jr., 72, of Carmi will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery in Norris City, Visitation will be Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 pm and on Sunday from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00pm at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Kenny's memory to the Foundation Fighting Blindness or Concord United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
