Keith Woods

Keith Woods, 52, of New Harmony, passed away Sunday morning July 6, 2014, in Eldorado, IL after having spent the weekend at horse camp in Southern Illinois with his family and friends. He was born September 25, 1961, at New Harmony, the son of Robert G. and Phyllis Ann (Cato) Woods. He married Janice E. Weyer on May 17, 1995, at Las Vegas, NV.

Keith loved everything outdoors, from horseback riding to gardening and bird hunting. He was a longtime member of the Posey County Saddle Club having served as its president and vice president. He was a past member of the Posey County Fair Association. He volunteered for Riding Hope. He would have worked 29 years at GE/Sabic in October. He took extensive classes in order to achieve the position of PCO Tech. He loved his family and friends, especially his son, Caleb.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; his son, Caleb; his mother, Phyllis Ann Woods; brothers, Darrell (Cyndi) Woods and Tim Woods; sisters, Louise (Roger) Webber and Teresa (Michael) Groeninger as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Rhonda Gumbel.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon, IN with Pastor John Hilbert officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com.
