Kay Johnson, 84, of Norris City, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She was born on May 23, 1940. in McLeansboro, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Sarah (Webb) Ingram. Kay married Jerry "Gig" Johnson on March 8, 1963, and he survives. She was a member of Norris City United Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Kay loved to read, but her greatest love was spending time with family.
In addition to her husband, Jerry "Gig" Johnson of Norris City, IL, Kay is survived by her children, Julie (Steve) Beckman of Carlyle, IL, Joni (David) Baldwin of Norris City, IL, Jay (Lori) Johnson of Omaha, IL. and Jill (Jason) Pruitt of Norris City, IL; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Auten of McLeansboro, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Steve Ingram.
Funeral services for Kay Johnson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Norris City United Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with burial at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Norris City United Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southern Illinois Hospice or to Norris City United Cumberland Church, and will be accepted at the church and may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
