Kathleen Edwards

Kathleen Edwards, 93, of  Norris City passed away at 2:05 a.m., Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.  She was born in Gallatin County, IL on November 28, 1922 the daughter of Frank M. and Martha Marrs (Pearce) Smith.  During the 1950 and 1960’s she taught at Brownsville and Mills Shoals Grade Schools.  She retired from Egyptian Health Department where she had worked as a social worker.  Kathleen was an artist and loved to paint and a member of Village Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Kathleen is survived by a daughter, Susan Healy of Norris City; two sons, Keith (Sally Little) Edwards and Brett (Regina) Edwards all of Norris City; eight grandchildren, Brian Edwards, Holly Edwards, Bruce Edwards, Jillian Edwards, April Bolin, Jarred Bolin, Branden Quillman and Caleb Quillman; and 10 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, John Robert Edwards.

Funeral Services for Kathleen Edwards, 93, of Norris City will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Joe Skaggs officiating.  Burial will be in Village Cemetery near Norris City.  Visitation will be at Campbell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.  Memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen’s memory to Village Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
