Karen Henson

Karen Rae Henson, 72, of Norris City, passed away peacefully at her daughters home in Carmi at 11:50 a.m., Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born March 11, 1945 the daughter of John Carson and Verla Maurine (Pollard) Jordan. Karen married Donald Wayne Henson on March 28, 1964 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2016. She worked as a florist then later was a bus driver for 27 years. Karen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norris City.

Karen is survived by a son, Derek (Debbie) Henson of Norris City; a daughter, Darla (Rick) Chappelle of Carmi; four grandchildren, Weston and Trevor Henson of Carmi, Kelsea Chappelle of Cape Girardeau, MO and Kaylea Chappelle of Carmi; a sister, Dianna Sloat of Farmer City; brother, Ralph Jordan of Carmi; three sisters-in-law, Martha West of Englewood, FL, Sandra (Bert) Knight of Carmi and Beverly Johnson, George, TX; and several dear cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, brother, Lewis Ray Jordan and two sisters, Louetta Buckner and Yvonne Mayer.

Funeral Services for Karen Henson, 72, of Norris City will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Rev. Dennis Reed officiating. Burial will be at Rice Cemetery in Norris City. Visitation will be Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 12:00 p.m until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Karen's memory to the Norris City Memorial Library or the Norris City First Baptist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
