Kaitlyn A. Gwaltney, 15, of Crossville passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, alongside her boyfriend of two years, Chris Coaliron. She was born March 3, 2001 in Marion, IL the daughter of Gary Wayne and Amanda Marie (Durham) Gwaltney. Kaitlyn was a Freshman at Carmi White County High School where she excelled in Art. Her smile could light up a room. She loved her friends and spending as much time as possible with them.

Kaitlyn is survived by her parents, Amanda Gwaltney of Crossville, Gary Gwaltney of Norris City; her maternal grandmother, Mary Frances Durham of Harrisburg; paternal grandparents, Karen and Garrett Gwaltney of Carmi; paternal great-grandmother, Louise Gwaltney of Carmi; her biological father, Jerry Allen; biological grandparents, Arnold and Diane Allen of Shawneetown; two sisters, Kelsie Allen of Shawneetown and Haylie Fulkerson-Gwaltney of Carmi; four brothers, Layne and William Gwaltney of Norris City and Kane and Slade Allen of Eldorado; seven aunts and uncles, Rodney and Karen Durham of Dekoven, KY, Thomas Durham of Shawneetown, Angela and Brian Gill of Grayville, Jeff and Tammy Kingery of Solitude, IN, Bucky and Misty Gwaltney, Mindy and Curt Stanton and Johnny and Adison Gwaltney all of Carmi; along with numerous cousins and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Papaw Ray Durham; paternal great-grandmother, Wilma Bradshaw; paternal great-grandfather, Papaw Charles Gwaltney; and two uncles, Ray Durham, Jr. and Willie Durham.

Let me tell you one of the greatest love stories of all time, the story of Chris and Kaitlyn. Chris gave his everything to her, made her a promise that he'd never leave her no matter what she opened up to him and told him her biggest fears, losing everything she ever loved, He made her a promise that he'd never leave her....and he never did, through hard times and good times, through life and through death. You both will be truly missed i love you and miss you both more than words can say. They died with each other and they loved each other more than anything,

A joint visitation for Kaitlyn A. Gwaltney and ChrishA�un Coaliron will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in Carmi. Funeral services for Kaitlyn will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at First Christian Church in Carmi with Greg Grant officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
