Junior Franklin Russell

Junior Franklin “Buck” Russell 93 of Enfield, passed away early Saturday April 14, 2018 at the Hamilton Memorial Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born August 23, 1924 in Enfield, the son of Louis Franklin and Mary (Darnell) Russell. He married Agnes L. Rister on August 6, 1949 in Morganfield, KY and she preceded him in death on December 23, 2017.

Buck retired from Whirlpool after 38 years. He was an avid gardener and woodcutter. He never met a stranger. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy. He was a long time Deacon and member of the Enfield General Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Terry (Cindy) Russell of Enfield and Robert (Tracey) Russell of Norris City; daughter, Barbara (Robert) Heck of Dahlgren. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Larry; and his sisters, Audie Rose, Allene Alldredge, Gladys Pierce, Goldie Jordan, Blanche Meade and S. Pauline Thomas Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday April 16, 2018 at the Enfield General Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery with military rites by the Carmi American Legion and V.F.W. Visitation will be held on Sunday form 4-6 p.m. at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield.
