Judy Allen

Judy Kay Allen, 73, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022.  She was born on August 16, 1948, in McLeansboro, Illinois, the daughter of James Hiram and Liza Beth (Holland) Purkey.  She married Michael Steven Allen on November 14, 1981, and he survives.  Judy worked as a C.N.A. at Carmi Township Hospital as well as various nursing homes throughout the years.  She was a member of  New Beginning Church of God. Judy enjoyed cooking, gardening, attending yard sales and most of all, spending time with her grandkids.

Judy is survived by her husband, Michael Allen of Carmi, IL; her children, Shelly Taylor of Carmi, IL, Sheila (Kelly) Savage of Carmi, IL, Billy (Elizabeth) Taylor of Carmi, IL. and Michael "Mikey" (Tara) Allen, Jr. of Charleston, IL.; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Jimmy Sue Hanna of McLeansboro, IL brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe Robert Allen of Enfield, IL, Brenda Hartman of FL, Ronnie Allen of Carrier Mills, IL, and Sherry Stover of Norris City, IL; and three grand dogs.  She is preceded in death by her parents; three great-grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Rose.

Funeral Services for Judy Allen, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at New Beginning Church of God in Carmi, Illinois. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at New Beginning Church of God in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Judy's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses,  Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements
