Biography

Judy K. Walsh, age 68, of Carmi, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013, at her home.
She was born March 12, 1944 in Herrin, the daughter of William and Marjorie (Stutsman) Francis. She married James T. Walsh July 10, 1966 in Carmi.

Judy was a graduate of Carmi Township High School class of 1962 and Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in 1965. She worked as an RN at Carmi Township Hospital for 42 years and later worked in the ER at Deaconess Gateway Hospital until her retirement in December of 2011. She was an active member of the Carmi Navy. She was a longtime member of the Carmi First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband Jim; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Chanda and Kevin Kays and Carrie and Doug Redman all of Carmi; 4 grandchildren, Justin and Katie Kays and Libby and Lily Redman; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy R. and June Francis of Carmi and Mark and Teresa Barger of Norris City.

She was precededed in death by her son, Trent; her parents, William and Marjorie and her step-father, Gene Barger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday February 4, 2013 at the Carmi First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dan Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Kuykendall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday February 3, 2013 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi and also 1 hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
