Joyce Campbell

Joyce F. Campbell, 81, of Carmi passed away at 10:32 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at her home. She was born December 13, 1932 in Blairsville, PA the daughter of Taylor Harvey and Hessie (Bennett) Fluke. Joyce married Donald Lee Campbell on August 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death on August 10, 1998. She was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and helped operate Campbell Funeral Home alongside her husband, Donald. Joyce was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi where she taught the Lydia Sunday School Class, was a 50 year member of the Norris City Order of the Eastern Star and served as Past Worthy Matron, American Legion Auxiliary, and Red Hatters.

Joyce is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Deb and Bill Price of Owensboro, KY, Brenda and Gilroy Bernard of Belle Rive, IL, Diana and Gene Jordan of Carmi and Donna and Kirk Knight of Mt. Juliet, TN; a son and daughter-in-law, David B. and Sharon Campbell of Carmi; ten grandchildren, Shannan, Beth, Chris, Curtis, Brooke, Donald Matthew, Jeremy, Jessica Joyce, Molly and Andy; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Helen Ruth and Tom Cain of Nashville, GA.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Lee Fluke and two brothers, Taylor Bennett Fluke and Daniel Harlan Fluke.

Funeral Services for Joyce F. Campbell, 81, of Carmi will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Glenn Toler officiating. Burial will be in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made in Joyce's memory to the First Baptist Church in Carmi and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
