Joyce Bridgeman

Joyce Bridgeman, 81, of Carmi, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 3:58 a.m. at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, IN. She was born November 8, 1930 in Hawthorne Township, IL, the daughter of Harry Ray and Cornelia Carolina "Tina" (Ackerman) Bradley. Joyce married Glen Elson Bridgeman April 14, 1951 and he preceded her in death March 12, 1983. She was co-owner/operator of Given and Bridgeman Insurance Co. and managed White County Memorial Garden for over 30 years. Joyce was a 47 year member of the American Legion Auxillary.

Surviving are two grandsons, Michael and wife, Chrissy Serafini and Kyle Dosher all of Carmi; three great-grandchildren, Michael Serafini, II, Mia and Mara Serafini all of Carmi; a son-in-law, Richard Dosher of Carmi; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Bridgeman of Mt. Vernon, IN and Lois (Bruce) Noland of Indianapolis, IN; and three brothers-in-law, George (Sandra) Bridgeman of Indianapolis, IN, J. R. (Joyce) Bridgeman of Carmi and O. D. (Dorothy) Bridgeman of Grayville. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Brenda Dosher; and two grandchildren, Joseph B. Serafini, II and Kerry Joyce Dosher.

Funeral services for Joyce Bridgeman, 81, of Carmi, will be Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Mike Buckman officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Friends may call on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's name to White County Memorial Garden or Carmi American Auxillary and will be accepted at the funeral home.
