Josephine Ciaravino

Josephine Ciaravino, 88, of Norris City passed away at 8:20 p.m., Tuesday August 11, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was born in New York City on September 17, 1926 the daughter of Anthony and Rita (Salorenzo) LaPorta. Josephine married Vito Salvatore Ciaravino on December 4, 1949 and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2011. She was a homemaker and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Cheri Ciaravino of Norris City; two grandsons, David Ciaravino of Norris City and Anthony Ciaravino of Brooklyn, NY; a sister, Christina LaPorta; and a brother, Vincent LaPorta. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Ciaravino and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Jospehine Ciaravino, 88, of Norris City will be held at Prosparo Funeral Home in Staten Island, NY with burial in Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City who is handling local arrangements.
