John Tarrants

John William Tarrants, 71, of Carmi, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.  He was born on June 2, 1951, the son of Wilbur Layton and Johnnie Irene (Hall) Tarrants.  John married Lena Lear on March 10, 1973, and she survives. He worked at Walmart for 26 years, including store manager at Carmi Walmart.  He enjoyed watching Kentucky Wildcats Basketball and was member of Calvary Baptist Church in Central City Kentucky.

In addition to his wife, Lena Tarrants of Carmi, IL, John is survived by his daughters, Deann (Bill) Horrall of Evansville, IN, and Keri Tarrants of Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Madyson Barton of Carmi, IL, Anyston Barton of Norris City, IL, and Kyston Tarrants of Carmi, IL; and a sister, Nancy Pentecost of Owensboro, KY.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Bob Tarrants, Eddie Tarrants, Louise McGhee and Dilbert Tarrants.

A celebration of life was held for John Tarrants on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church in Central City, Kentucky. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
