John Parks

John L. Parks, 91, of Evansville, IN formerly of Carmi, IL passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:45p.m. at North Park Nursing Home in Evansville, IN. John was born on March 24, 1921 in White County, IL, the son of Samuel W. and Ida May (Majors) Parks. He married Hattie M. Taylor in 1941. John was a building contractor and a member of the First Christian Church in Carmi.
John is survived by his wife of 71 years, Hattie of Evansville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Floyd R. and Janice Parks of Newburgh, IN, Ron Parks of Boonville, IN and Jim L. Parks of Carmi; five grandchildren, Bret Parks and wife Tammi, Brian Parks and wife Julie, Lana Wright and husband Mike, Lindsay Parks and Kent Parks; and five great grandchildren, Peighton and Carson Parks, Austin and Parker Wright and Jace Allen Parks.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Marcella Garrett, May Johnson, Mary Helen Duckworth and Macy Calkins.
Funeral Services for John L. Parks, 91, of Evansville, IN will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Friends may call at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Tuesday from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m.
