John Jenkins

John C. Jenkins, 80, of Long Beach, MS, died March 2, 2005 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS. He was born in Mt. Vernon, IN son of John E. and Lena (Bell) Jenkins. John graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. He was a WWII US Army Veteran and was retired from the Motion Picture Industry in California. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Minnie Allen.
John is survived by his daughter, Shonece Reese of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Jean Hawkins of Atascadero, CA and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8 PM, Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Arbor Cremation Center at Austin Funeral Home. John will be cremated and the ashes will be buried in California. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Arbor Cremation Center at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth St., Mt. Vernon, IN.
