John Healy

John Nelson Healy, 61, of Norris City passed away at his home on Thursday, February 9, 2023. He was born in Carmi, IL on November 11, 1961. He was the son of Fred and Edith (Ledbetter) Healy. John worked as a truck driver for Beelman and ITS for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and his side-by-side, and talking with his fellow truck driver friends on his CB radio. John was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan who was eager for the upcoming Super Bowl. His favorite activity above all else was spending quality time with his family and friends. 

John is survived by his children, Matthew K. (Lisa) Healy of McLeansboro, IL, Joshua C. Healy of Norris City, IL, Katelyn R. (Christian) Weirather of Hartselle, AL, and Makayla N. Healy of Norris City, IL. He is also survived by a brother, Benjamin (Sally) Healy of Enfield, IL. His grandchildren are Aubrey, Logan, and Ardyn Healy, Reid, Tate, and Karlyn Weirather, and Vivian and Lydia Healy. He is preceded in death by his parents, nephew Stephen Healy, and his companion, Karen Brown. 

Funeral services for John Healy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February. 18, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 11 a.m. until the service begins at 1 p.m. Burial at Bruce Chapel Cemetery in Carmi, IL to follow.
