John Hasara

John "Jack" Hasara, 83, of Broughton, IL, joined the Lord in his sleep Monday, September 16, 2013 at 5:40 a.m. at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville, IN. He was born February 25, 1930 in Chicago, IL, the son of John William and Mary Ann (Masus) Hasara. Jack married Neva Mae Shelton July 2, 1976 at St. Clements Catholic Church in McLeansboro, IL where he was a member. He was a U.S. Army veteran and supervisor of Twigg Township from 1984 to 1992.. He owned Jack Hasara Builders and was a carpenter all of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Neva Hasara of Broughton, IL; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Kathy and Brett Secrist, Barbie and Bill Brunner,Betty and Rich BrockSchmidt and Patricia and Todd Carnduff all of Springfield, IL, and Mary Ann Farrell of Oklahoma City, OK; a son and daughter-in-law, John Patrick and Sandra Hasara of Murfreesboro, TN; two step sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Lincoln and Janet Smith of Eldorado, IL and Timmy Wayne and Kathy Smith of McLeansboro, IL; eleven grandchildren, Dustin Fitch, Dennis Langley, Joey Walker, Lori Schmidt, William "Bubba" Farrell, Aimee Sanborn, Amanda (Cole) Bloomfield, Cory (Brenna) Reed, Barbara Ann (Bob) Ortiz, Aubrey Venable and Jennifer (Dustin) Rodrigues; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Christine and Stephanie Ann Smith; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rita Maria Helm; a grandson, Greg Lowery; a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Francis Hasara; and two sons-in-law, James Helm and Bill Farrell.

Funeral services for John "Jack" Hasara, 83, of Broughton, IL, will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Clements Catholic Church in McLeansboro with Rev. Father Joe Lawler officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Oval Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
