John Esch

John Robert (Bob) Esch, 84, formerly of Carmi, IL, passed away peacefully at 12:37pm on Friday, May 20th at his home in Hurricane, WV surrounded by his family. He was born April 29, 1932, in Bridgeport, IL, the son of the late John Arthur Esch and Alberta Griffith Esch. John married June Gott Esch on December 23, 1953 while he was serving in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Wiesbaden Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerry Esch.

John is survived by his wife of 63 years, June Esch of Hurricane WV; daughters, Deborah (Glenn) Jones of Hurricane WV, Rebecca (Walter) Wood of Cincinnati OH, and Roberta Esch of Charleston WV; Grandchildren; Jocelyn Bentley of Milton WV, Walter Wood III (Stephanie) of Cincinnati OH, Elisabeth (Stephen) Ball of Cincinnati OH, Coleman Mullins of Hurricane WV, Megan (Chad) Engle of Charleston SC; Great-grandchildren; Alec Bentley, Coleman Mullins, Elisabeth Bentley, Garrett Ball, Peyton Ball, and Walter Wood IV; and a Sister, Jane Hocking of Keensburg, IL.

John retired from Columbia Gas after 27 years of service. He was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Hurricane WV. He was also a member of the Beni Kedem Shrine and the Masonic Lodge of Clendenin.

Visitors may call on the family from 10am-12pm, Monday May 23, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12pm. Bural will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi, IL.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice House of Charleston or a memorial fund at Redeemer Presbyterian Church of Hurricane and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
