John R. "Bob" Davis, 69, of Norris City, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 1:14 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, Il. He was born March 20, 1943 in West Frankfort, IL, the son of Cleamon and Mable (Griffith) Davis. He owned and operated Davis Auto Repair in West Frankfort and was a member of West Frankfort's First Christian Church.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer Davis of Norris City and Jaclyn and Charles Ogden of Franklin, TN; two sisters, Viola Vene of Norris City and Patricia Sassamon of St. Petersburg, FL; two grandsons, Nathan and Jackson Ogden; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Irene Etters and Deloris Radice; and a brother, Tom Davis.
Graveside services and burial for John R. "Bob" Davis, 69, of Norris City, will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City with Rev. Janet Roy officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
