John E. Curry,74, of Carmi passed away at 12:50 am, Friday, November 18, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Batavia, IL on August 26, 1942 the son of Harrison M. Curry and Delores (Nelson) Kaluza. John married Shirley Ann Wycoff on September 21, 1975. He owned Curry Stump Removal. John was a United States Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years Shirley; a son, Rudy and Angela Curry of Carmi; two daughters, Mary and Dale Curtis of Enfield and Juanita and Sammy Stokes of Carmi; two step-daughters, Kathy and Gary Wilson of Oak Grove, AR and Carolyn Collins of Paragould, AR; a sister, Dorothy Browning of Carmi; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was precede in death by his parents, Harrison Curry and Delores Kaluza; two brothers, Louie Kaluza and Harrison Curry; and two grandchildren, Mandy Stokes and Richard Mansfield.
Funeral services for John E. Curry, 74, of Carmi will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home with Military Rites by Carmi VFW and American Legion. Private burial will be in White County Memorial Garden at a later date. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016. Memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
