John W. Brown, 79, of Enfield passed away at 3:54 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born October 2, 1935 in Maunie, IL the son of Harry and Iona (Wooten) Brown. John was a long time teacher at Booth School in Enfield. He was a member of the White County Retired Teachers Association and of the Methodist faith and was an Army Veteran.
John is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Gail and Carl Larson of Louisville, KY; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Kathy Brown of Carmi and Charles Jerry and Sara Brown of Huntsville, AL; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James R. and Robert Gene Brown.
Funeral Services for John W. Brown, 79, of Enfield, will be Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in the Big Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Tuesday after 1:00 p.m.
