Joe Murphy

     Joe Alan Murphy, 46, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025. He was born on March 16, 1978, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the son of Roy and Carolyn S. (Rumsey) Murphy. Joe attended Brownsville School. He was well known around the community. He collected cans from local residents as a hobby as well as a job. Joe enjoyed watching wrestling and spending his days with his brother, John.

     Joe is survived by his brother, John Murphy of Carmi, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents.

     A graveside service will be held for Joe Alan Murphy at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Melrose Cemetery in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses. Donations may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
