JoAnne Gibbs

JoAnne Gibbs, 50 of Mt. Vernon died Wednesday evening June 9, 2010 at her home. She was born on December 24, 1959 in Valasta, GA, the daughter of William Gene and Mary (Harris) Gibbs.


Ms. Gibbs was a homemaker. She attended the A.G.A.P.E. church.


She is survived by her mother, Mary McGrath of Mt. Vernon; one son, Johnny Gibbs of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Mary Ann Bennington of Mt. Vernon; one granddaughter, Kelsey Nicole Thompson; five sisters, Debbie Ross of Royal Center, IN, Margie Carr and Judy Spieker both of Evansville, Alinda Gibbs and Betty Schneider, both of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Billy Gibbs.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Austin-Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. On-line condolences may be left at www.austinfuneralhome.com.
