Joann Stroud

Joann Stroud, 81, of Norris City passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Nursing and Rehab in McLeansboro, IL. She was born December 25, 1931 in Monticello, KY the daughter of Robert Leon and Gladys Elizabeth (Ramsey) Turpin. Joann was a 1950 graduate of Norris City High School and later when on to receive of LPN. She worked in nursing homes in Enfield, Carmi and Eldorado. Joann was a member of Norris City United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir and United Methodist Women. She loved music, painting, playing the piano and going to the Senior Citizens dances.

Joann is survived by a son, Robert Stroud of Makanda, IL; three grandchildren, Rachel Kinmen, Raven Trabant and Robert Trabant; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Rembe, Kyla Kinman, Jaden Randolph, Tristan Kinman; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Sula Turpin of Silver Springs, FL and Christine and Carl Bramstedt of Alton, IL; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Jane Turpin of Enfield; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Turpin of Tuscumbia, AL.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Rodriguez on July 12, 1999 and two brothers, Robert Turpin on July 26, 2013 and Frank Owen Turpin.

Funeral Services for Joann Stroud, 81, of Norris City will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Rev. Janet Roy officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Memorial Contributions may be made in Joann's memory to the Norris City United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
