Joan Williams

Joan Williams, 79, of Carmi, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 8:11 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born July 30, 1933 in Carmi, the daughter of William Louis, Sr. and Effie Naomi (Miller) Weiss. Joan married Sam L. Williams on August 14, 1950. She was a member of Enfield Christian Church.
Joan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Sam Williams of Carmi; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Mike Daniel of Enfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Irma Williams of McLeansboro, Eric and Jan Williams of Oklahoma City, OK and Mike and Juli Williams of Carmi; a brother and sister-in-law, Lowell "Newt" and Mary Alice Weiss of Enfield; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Holder and Berneda Cox; a brother, William L. "Bill" Weiss, Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Sawyer Ann Blazier.
Funeral Services for joan Williams, 79, of Carmi will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Enfield Christian Church with Matt Sutman officiating. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made in Joan's memory to the Memory Unit at Wabash Christian Retirement Center and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home
