Joan Catherine Brown, 84, of Crossville, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at 6:00 a.m. at her residence in Crossville. She was born November 10, 1928 in Duncan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lewis Arthur and Edith Marie (Hamon) Wallace. She married Luther Delbert Brown August 28, 1948 and he preceded her in death May 31, 1999. Joan was a parishioner of St. Polycarp Catholic Church and a member of Home Extension and the Elks Lodge all in Carmi.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Sue Brandenstein of Crossville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Delbert Michael and Martha Brown of Libertyville, IL and Patrick Lee and Lois Brown of Norman, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Clayton Andrew Swanner, Danice Elizabeth and David Michael Brown; one great-grandchild, Rayne Swanner; and a brother, William A. Wallace of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Robert L. Wallace.
Funeral Services for Joan Brown, 84, of Crossville will be held at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, OK with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
