Jerry L. Applewhite, age 58 of Carmi passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born on October 17, 1957 in Chicago, IL, the son of Edward and Betty (Hornbeek) Applewhite. He married Dena Anders.
Jerry served in the United States Army and did helicopter maintence, He was a member of the American Legion in Carmi. He was also an ordained minister and preformed many local weddings; he worked as a Truck Driver. Jerry was affectionately known as the “Hot Dog Man”.
Jerry is survived by a wife Dena; 3 daughters, Keyair (Chad) Denton of Evansville, Jeri Hester of Evansville and Heather Applewhite of Carmi; 4 Grandchildren Conner and Camden Denton and Kaylee and Kinzy Vance.
He was preceded in death by one Grandchild Annalyn Denton.
Family and Friends may visit on Thursday, April 28 2016 from 5p.m to 8 p.m. at Stendeback Family Funeral home in Carmi with Military rites being performed at 5 p.m. by the Carmi American Legion and V.F.W.
