Jennie Heckman

Jennie L. Heckman 86, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away Saturday evening February 24, 2018 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born October 1, 1931 in Mt. Vernon, IN the daughter of Edward E. and Mabel (Kennett) Hessler. She was married to Marion J. Heckman and he preceded her in death in 1981.

Jennie worked for several offices in the Posey County Courthouse through the years. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading.

Jennie is survived by her sons, James Heckman and Tom (Alice) Heckman all of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Carol Anne Heckman, Maria (Skyler) Davis; and Samuel James Heckman; sister, Helen Waters of Evansville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Robert L. Heckman; siblings, Georg, Victor, Beuford, Vertis, and Edward Hessler, Bertha Mae Hessler, Emily "Joyce" Reisinger and Betty Scherretz.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday February 28, 2018 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
