Jeff Ritsch

Jeff "Burger" Ritsch, 56, of Carmi, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 5:45 p.m. at his residence. He was born March 22, 1957 in Carmi, the son of Billy Gene and Loretta Jean (Hood) Ritsch. Jeff married Betty Jean Soltermann on December 3, 1977. He was owner/operator of Ritsch Disposal Service. Jeff loved dogs, crappie fishing and was a Chicago Cub's fan. He was an avid car enthusiast and especially a big mopar fan.


Jeff is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Ritsch of Carmi; two daughters, Ashley Marie (Brian Ragsdale) Ritsch and Kelsey Renae (Josh Healy) Ritsch all of Carmi; his mother, Loretta Ritsch of Carmi; a brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Shirley Ritsch of Crossville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa and Tony Acord of Olney, IL and Rachal and Paul Wortman of Carmi; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Koterba of Carmi and Eva Lynn (Bob) Doan of Clinton, IN; three brothers-in-law, Gary Soltermann of Springerton, Allan (Karen Mikesell) Soltermann of Rockville, IN and John Soltermann of Clinton, IN; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Sadie, Ava, Sookie and Otto.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Ritsch; grandparents, Clarence "Speck" and Ella Ritsch and Harry and Velma Hood; his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Dolores Hill; and a sister-in-law, Juanita Denbo.

Funeral services for Jeff "Burger" Ritsch, 56, of Carmi, will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be at White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Friends may call on Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be given in Jeff's name to the American Heart Association, Fairfield Memorial Foundation or the Phoenix Foundation and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
