Jeff Leftwich

Jeff Martin Leftwich, 75 of Sparta, TN, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born on February 19, 1936 in Sparta, TN, the son of James Richard and Sarah (Gist) Leftwich. He married Marjorie Jones on April 2, 1988 in Sparta,TN and she survives in Mt. Vernon, IN.


Mr. Leftwich had worked for the Parks Department in Sparta and also for Shank Roofing in Mt. Vernon. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.


In addition to his wife, Marjorie, he is survived by a son, Kevin Jones of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, LaConia “Coney” Ricketts of Evansville and Yevette Waller of Mt. Vernon; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; four brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Susie Leftwich, Glen Dale and Connie Leftwich, Walter “Tommy” and Wenda Leftwich and Johnny Leftwich, all of Sparta; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nelda Joyce Dibrell and Elizabeth and Charles Rouse, all of Sparta; several nieces and nephews and extended family, Missy, Ralph and Frances. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Don Leftwich.


Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Friday evening, October 21, 2011 at the Austin-Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Oakwood Street Church of Christ in Sparta, TN with visitation one hour before the time of the service.
