Jeannie Young

Biography

Clara J. (Jeannie) Young of Enfield, passed away Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the Poenix Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carmi. She was born March 23, 1957 in Carmi the daughter of Clark “Boone” and Betty S. (Evans) Young.

Jeannie was a veteran of the United States Navy. She had served as a Girl Scout Leader and had been involved in Project Literacy.

She is survived by her mother, Betty S. Young of Carmi; her daughter, Amy (Louis) Graham of Carmi; her son, Victor (Beatrice) Ramirez of Jappa, MD; seven grandchildren, Daniel Mathews, David “Tony” Jackson, Jacob Nuckolls, Samantha Ramirez, Allison and Hayley Ramierz and Caleb Ramirez; two great-grandchildren, Trip Lane and Floyd Lennon Newton; two sisters, Virginia (George) Tidwell of Norris City and Vallerie (Doug) Horner of Teanick, NJ; nieces, Cindy (Greg) Palk, Lizzie and Liam; nephews, James M. Hoover and Kelly Tidwell. She was preceded in death by her father, Boone Young and her life partner, Jerry L. Young.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
