Janice Wooten, 71, of Norris City, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10:22 a.m. at her residence in rural Norris City. She was born October 9, 1942 in Carmi, the daughter of Chester and Donna Fern (Benner) Renshaw. She married Charles Lavern "Sonny" Wooten June 4, 1960 and he preceded her in death June 21, 1998. She was a CNA and worked at Wilmar Restoriam and Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi, she also was a sitter/companion in home healthcare.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Julie Ann and Larry Ellison of Norris City; a son Charles Lavern Wooten, Jr. of Carmi; a brother and sister-in-law Billy Gene and Shirley Renshaw of McLeansboro; a half sister Marion Kay, a half brother Donnie Ray Smith; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Chester Lee Wooten in 1963, a daughter-in-law Rebecca Wooten, a brother Gary Renshaw.
Graveside Funeral Services and burial will be Monday September 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Enfield Cemetery with Ron Lamp officiating. Friends may call at the Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m.
